There are Seven major energy centers in the body, known as the Chakras, and each Chakra is connected to a nerve plexus and major endocrine gland within the body. The Chakras connect our bodies with our auras, and are our connection to the dynamic Force of Life. Each Chakra has an associated color, which can be used to vibrationally affect the senses, and balance the body, mind and soul. These are the pure, spectral colors of the rainbow, and each of these colors also has a frequency and wave length.
A very useful and easy Chakra color meditation is to "breath in" color; with each breath, imagine breathing in a Chakra color, and direct this colored breath to that Chakra, infusing it with "Prana" (the Life giving Energy of the Universe, which we take in through the air we breath).
Each Chakra also has gemstones and crystals in these primal, spectral colors, and these stones can be used in crystal healing. Chakra color healing has been shown to help on physical, spiritual and psychological levels of wellbeing. Chakra balancing with color can have a profound effect; if our Chakras are blocked, or drained of Energy, then our bodies, minds and spirits can not function properly.
